Kate is recently retired from the tattoo business. she will only be taking private appointments on occasion.

She also worked in comics and animation for companies like TokyoPop and Spumco, the creators of “Ren and Stimpy”, “Ripping Friends” and music videos for Bjork’s “I miss you” and Jack Black with Tenacious D’s “F**k her gently”. Kate has kept her art skills up with the times by attending Gnomon School for Visual Effects in Hollywood. At Gnomon she had the cutting edge of 3d animation instruction and the chance to work and study with the digital art teams that made films like “The Watchmen”, “Day After Tomorrow”, “Splice” and “Avatar”.
In tattooing Kate has worked for and with some of the worlds most influential Tattoo Masters, Jack Rudy’s Tattooland & Koolsville, Gil Montie’s Tattoo Mania in Hollywood, Roni Zulu’s Zulu Tattoo and working with industry legends Chris “Fat Cat” Aguilar, Kore Flatmo, George Totten, Michael “Creeper” Espinoza, Merdok, Baby Ray, Baba, Freddy Negrete, Mark Mahone, Zeke Owen(Ronald Moziek) the teacher of Don Ed Hardy and top of Kate’s line of apprenticeship. Kate opened her first studio in 2002, “Hi Fi Tattoo” in Orange County,CA. It had been a tattoo shop for 18 years prior to being purchased by Kate, making it the oldest studio in the OC. In 2004 Kate opened “Hi Fi Tattoo”‘s Sister store in Sacramento,CA. then another two in Hollywood and Downtown LA in late 2005.
A family emergency made her choose between shop or family, so she closed and sold all of her studios and moved on. Kate has given all to her art and with over 150,000 clients satisfied it is no wonder she’s been so well received here in Montreal. In 2007, Kate headed north to Canada to spend time near her remaining family and open Montreal’s Premier tattoo studio, Tattoo Box Montreal. Her studio and crew are tattooing 7 days a week at www.tattooboxmontreal.com.
